NewsHow much does Claude cost in Malaysia?
2 Nov 2026Claude has a free plan, and paid plans for heavier use. Anthropic lists Claude Pro at USD 20 a month (about USD 17 a month if paid yearly), and two Max tiers at USD 100 and USD 200 a month, which are monthly only.
Anthropic says prices are shown in local currency where supported, and that some regions include tax in the displayed price while others add it at checkout. Reports from Malaysian subscribers say plans are billed in US dollars, so the ringgit amount on your card statement depends on your bank's exchange rate and any foreign transaction fees.
Malaysia's service tax on digital services may also apply to foreign digital subscriptions. Check the final amount at checkout.
Tip for companies: Team and Enterprise plans add admin controls and billing for groups. If you're training staff, compare a Team plan against individual Pro subscriptions.
Always confirm current prices at claude.ai/upgrade or in your app store, as plans change from time to time.

1 Nov 20261. The Claude app (claude.ai, desktop and mobile). The quickest start for staff: sign up, pick a plan, and use Claude for writing, research, analysis and documents. Team and Enterprise plans add central billing and admin controls.
2. The Anthropic API. For developers building Claude into your own systems: chatbots, document processing, internal tools and agents. Billing is per token.
3. Through a cloud provider. Claude is also available through Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI and Microsoft's cloud. Amazon Bedrock offers global cross-region inference for Claude to customers in Malaysia, which can suit companies that already buy cloud through AWS.
How to choose: start with the app for productivity, use the API or your cloud provider for products and automation, and check data residency and PDPA requirements with your IT and legal teams.

28 Oct 2026In 2026 Anthropic launched the Claude Partner Network, its official programme connecting businesses with firms that build and deploy Claude-powered solutions.
Several Malaysian and regional firms now describe themselves as registered partners, offering services such as building Claude agents, integrating Claude with internal systems, and training staff.
If you're hiring a partner: ask for case studies, who owns the code and data, how they handle PDPA, and whether the solution uses the Anthropic API directly or a cloud provider.

↑ Back to newsNewsAnthropic opens its first Southeast Asia office in Singapore
14 Oct 2026Anthropic officially opened its Singapore office on 14 October 2026. It is the company's first office in Southeast Asia and its fifth in Asia-Pacific, after Tokyo, Bengaluru, Seoul and Sydney.
The regional team is led by Dale Finlay, who joined Anthropic as general manager for ASEAN and is based in Singapore, working with customers and partners across Southeast Asia.
Anthropic pointed to strong demand for Claude in the region. Its Economic Index ranked Singapore second out of 121 countries for Claude.ai usage per capita.
What it means for Malaysia: a regional office usually means closer support for enterprise customers and partners, more local events, and faster answers on procurement questions. The announcement did not include Malaysia-specific pricing or products, so for now Malaysian users continue to sign up and pay the same way as before.

↑ Back to newsGuidesUsing Claude with company data: a practical PDPA checklist
30 Sep 2026Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) applies whenever your business processes personal data, including when staff use AI tools. This checklist is a starting point, not legal advice.
- Use a business plan. Team and Enterprise plans give admin controls and clearer data terms than personal accounts.
- Remove what you don't need. Strip IC numbers, phone numbers and addresses before uploading.
- Write an AI usage policy. List what staff may and may not paste into AI tools.
- Check where data goes. Ask IT whether you use the Claude app, the API or a cloud provider, and what each means for data handling.
- Keep a human in the loop. Review AI output before it goes to customers.
- Train your team. Most data leaks are accidents. A one-hour briefing prevents most of them.
↑ Back to newsNewsClaude Opus 5.5 is here: what Malaysian teams should know
23 Sep 2026Anthropic released Claude Opus 5.5 on 22 September 2026, positioning it as an everyday model for companies, built to power agents that can run whole projects on their own.
It joins Claude Fable 5.1, released on 1 September 2026. The current public line-up is Fable 5.1 and Opus 5.5 for the hardest work, Sonnet 5.5 as the fast all-rounder, and Haiku 5.5 for quick, low-cost tasks.
Which should your team use? For most office work in the Claude app, the default model is fine. Developers building on the API should test Sonnet first for cost and speed, and move up to Opus for long, multi-step agent tasks.
